Hello classmates. Following high school graduation I attended Flint Jr. College and worked in the Owosso/Corunna area. In 1964 I moved to Lansing and worked at the Bank of Lansing in the mortgage department as well as attending Lansing community College. In 1967 I transferred to Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo and graduated with a B. A. in 1969. In 1970 I began teaching elementary school in Dearborn Heights. I taught grades second, fourth, and fifth. In 1978 I graduated from Oakland University with a Masters of Arts in Teaching with endorsements in learning disabilities and emotionally impaired. I was an elementary resource teacher for eleven years and a Jr. H.S. departmentalized teacher for 3 years in the special education department. In 1988 I obtained a specialist degree in educational leadership from Eastern Michigan University. In 1989 I became the Director of Special Education and served in this capacity for twelve years. In 1994 I moved to Garden City. I retired in July 2006 after 36 ½ years.
I have enjoyed some travelling to London, Paris, Acapulco, Cancun, San Juan, St Thomas and cruising to the Florida Keys and Cayman Islands. Am looking forward to more travel.
Family is my wonderful brother Jim, his lovely wife Sue, two nephews, one niece and five great nephews and one great niece. It is delightful being an aunt and I relish the time spent with all of them.
Retirement is great. I belong to a theatre group with some former colleagues and am doing some volunteer work through church.
I hope all of you are happy and enjoying yourselves.
